Guess what I found today? One of my favorite bloggers with a small info article in the June/July 2010 issue of Quilters Home Magazine! Judy Laquidara from Patchwork Times! I just love Judy to death and besides quilting, she loves chickens! A+ in my book!

Run on out and get this issue! To be honest, this isn’t one of the quilting magazines I purchase on a regular basis, but I picked it up because of a couple of really cute quilts I want to make. Then, as I was flipping through it at the check-out, I saw Judy’s photo!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Since the release of this beautiful book by Storey Publishing, I have looked through it several times. It has so many cute, quick projects. One Yard Wonders is a beautiful book, as well. I hope to buy my own copy very soon to get busy on some of the fantastic projects.

While looking around and reading blogs, I found this post about the adorable clothespin apron project in the book. Go take a look and see how adorable the apron is! While you are at it….be sure to drool over the cloth diapers she has on her clothesline in the photo!!

Since this blog is one of several I have and each one is on a different subject, I have decided to do some changing.

My main blog is Crazy for the Country. It is my family blog, where I post about anything and everything in our every day lives.

Besides my main blog, there is this one, Calling It Quilts. Then, I also have Oh Chicken Feathers, Hugs by the Pound and Stepford Housewife.

I am going to make all of my “secondary” blogs into more of review type blogs. I plan to post at least a couple of times a week on each of them, each post will be very specific. For instance, here on Calling It Quilts, each post will be about a specific quilt block, book, quilting related gadget and the like. This format will carry over to each of my other blogs, keeping Crazy for the Country as my main “what’s happening” blog for our family.

So be sure to bookmark each one and come back often. This change will start tomorrow, June 1, 2010.

Enjoy!

Recently, I got a little crazy buying fabric on ebay :-p Most of those fabrics have arrived and are washed, ironed and ready for projects!

Lately also, I found at one of my local quilt shops, R&R Quilts, that they had a $5 BOM (block of the month) going and also a “Buck a Block” one as well. Of course, I’m doing both!

In past years, I started a BOM, one of the JoAnn’s ones….and typical of me, it hasn’t been finished. I have all the block kits and the setting kit just waiting for me.

After finding the $5 BOM and the Buck a Block BOM, I have found that I really like the BOM concept. So to the internet I went…searching eBay for BOM kits. I found a gorgeous one done in Red White and Bold by Moda Fabrics. I have all 12 kits purchased and am waiting for the setting kit to be available in April.

I know there are many free BOM available online, and I will be following up on this post with a list of ones I find.

Have a great week!

You’ve found my new blog! Once upon a time, several years ago, it was a dream of mine to own my very own online quilt store. The name I picked out was “Calling It Quilts”. Well, the quilt store never materialized, although many other businesses did, but I’ve kept the name in my head all these years and decided to make a blog with it.

I’ve been a quilt-a-holic for over 18 years. I “put down” my quilting for a few years while my kids were younger and my other online businesses monolopized all my time. I have sold all of my online businesses and pride myself at being a fantastic SAHM to my children. Now, I’ve found that I love blogging! Of course, it’s “the age of blogging”. So, Calling It Quilts blog is born.

I’m glad you found me here, be sure to add my link to your favorite blogs and visit on a regular basis. You never can tell what you’ll find here.
